From Bodegas Esmeralda in Argentina, the grapes for the 2014 vintage of this Cabernet Sauvignon from Catena Alta are from vineyards planted over 1000 metres above sea-level that take advantage of the cool nights (and warm days) to fully ripen the wine grapes. The wine was then aged 18 months in new French oak. Layers of blackberry, blackcurrant, coffee and toasty oak spice is what you can expect from this muscular red from Cantena Zapata.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: barbecued and grilled meats, game, chicken salad, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Produced by Cantena Zapata, Cantena Alta Historic Rows 2015 is a full-bodied mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (with some Cabernet Franc) sourced from La Pirámide, Domingo and Nicasia vineyards planted over 1000 metres above sea-level that take advantage of the cool nights (and warm days) to fully ripen Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This vintage was aged 18 months in mixed new and previous-use French oak barrels. Ripe blackberry, herbal and dark spice and chocolate flavours on the palate from a challenging vintage. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
