Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

As noted on the bottle of the Cap Royal, Bordeaux Superieur 2016, the wine benefited from the experience of Jean Rene Matignon, Technical Director of Chateau Pichon Baron 2nd Cru Classé. The effect is demonstrated in this appealing wine. Aromas of black plum, blueberry, bay leaf, leather, spice, cola and oak. A medium body with a charming balance, Cap Royal pleases with its drinkability and food-friendly character. Palate: plum, cherry, black pepper, cocoa, dill and oak. Enjoy!
Cap Royal 2016 is a vegan-friendly Bordeaux Supérieur red wine blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Lots of spicy dark plum, black currant, violets and vanilla aromas and flavours vibrant on the palate. Enjoy with a grilled New York striploin steak. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
