Sweet chocolate hits you on the nose first followed by smoky campfire aromas. The palate is round and supple with lots of sweet chocolate and mocha notes. Cannonball (on the label) represents freedom: the child with legs tucked up underneath him as he dives into the water. Lots of fleshy ripe black fruit here in this big Californian Cabernet. Full-bodied with some herbal notes. Lots of mocha, cocoa, cola, and smoke from generous oak aging. Good tannin structure and balance. Pair with Beef daube.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled burgers, Margherita pizza, pepper steaks, smoky ribs.

A full-bodied Cab from Healdsburg, California, giving delicious aromas and flavours of ripe strawberries, black cherries, vanilla, milk chocolate, mint and oak. Smooth and well-structured. Drink now or cellar til 2014.

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

On the nose, this Cabernet Sauvignon does not have much fruit. It has aromas of eucalyptus leaves, cloves, espresso and subtle hints of cocoa and dark berries.

It has fresh acidity with flavours of blueberries, espresso, chocolate, and subtle violet notes.

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, is a bold dark fruit wine perfect for the patio this summer. Crafted in California, Cannonball shows ripe plum, dark cherry, milk chocolate and oak. This balanced Californian will please with flavours of fresh cherry, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Whether sipped with food or on its own, this Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon will make a splash. Enjoy!

Christian Marcoux
Cannonball is an iconic Cabernet Sauvignon Californian robust and well-structured red wine. The label, with a child with tucked in legs represents the freedom of cannonballing into a lake as we all did as kids. The wine is full-bodied with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and cherry flavours, Tannins are soft and rounded. - Community Wine Reviews
