Vintages Wine Panel: Pinot Gris is becoming a staple in the vineyards of the Okanagan, resulting in a range of styles from light and crisp to ripe, round and robust. This fine example from Burrowing Owl comes right up the middle. It features aromas of lime, pear, mineral and even a slight hint of butterscotch. On the palate, it is quite dry with good lime/pear replays and a hint of toasty oak. This version has good weight in the mouth and a rather long crisp/fruit/oak finish. My note:

Pinot Gris food pairings: grilled prawns.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
