Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous bright amber hue with a very fragrant nose of caramel, nuts and vanilla. A very satisfying satiny palate gives buttery toffee, nuts and vanilla, with silky finish.
Tasted November 2015

tasted December 2013
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Tawny in colour as well as in the name. This is a seductive port with layers of flavours and aromas. Butterscotch, hazelnut and toffee. Luscious nutty flavours and some sweet spice. Drizzle some on your ice cream or sip after dinner with some blue cheese and nuts. Tasted March 13, 2017.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Beautifully flavoured, smooth, and balanced. Aromas of almond, toffee, caramel and smoky spice. Full bodied and luxurious on the palate, with more caramel nutty and smoky hints on a long finish. Enjoy with crème caramel.
Burmester Tawny is a 10-year-old port, luscious with smoky toffee, fruit cake and sweet roasted nut flavours on the palate. A silky-smooth satisfying mouthful with a fresh and spicy finish. Produced from 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Franca. - Community Wine Reviews
