A port-style wine that has fleshy ripe aromas and flavours of blackberry jam and cassis perserves. Good balancing acidity. Great with blueberry and blackberry desserts as well as Black Forest Cake.

Reviews and Ratings

Chris Coughlin - WSET level 3 grad rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas and Flavours of: dark berries, fig and chocolate ganache, this port-style fortified wine is a great late night sipper or to pair with desserts or cigars.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Port-style wine from BC that really is quite flavourful and complex. There is rich dark blackberries, spice and oaky aromas and flavours. For the price it is real value. Great with dark gourmet salty chocolates or as to be expected, pairs well with friends after a nice meal, in the place of dessert.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Prunes / dates / cocoa / black licorice / cinnamon / mouth-coating-full-bodied-sweetness.

Stinky blue cheese for a contrast ; dark earthy chocolate for a compliment!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A nice port-style wine with blackberry, white pepper and dark chocolate. It has a long, smooth finish and would be great with nuts, dark chocolate, or salty cheeses. A fantastic dessert wine.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Great port-style wine. Lots of chocolate, caramel, toffee, baking spice and dried fruits (fig and apricot). Obviously a chocolate cake wine (I second the Black Forest Cake, Natalie).
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

June 22, 2014: Fortified red wine in a Late Bottle Vintage Port style, this has a nose raisined fruit, an oxidized character, oxo cube, soya sauce and chocolate. The palate is warm and sweet with dark chocolate, fig, prune, raisin and a littly nutty. Full bodied and well balanced with a long finish, this will work with salty blue cheeses, chocolate desserts or roasted almonds/pecans.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A port-style dessert wine with stewed dark fruit and raisin aromas, echoed on the palate along with ripe blackberries.
Try with Blueberry Pie or Spice Cake.
