From the Victoria wine region in the Great Western, Best's Bin No. 1 2018 Shiraz is like liquid velvet. Fragrant, full-bodied and savoury on the palate with ripe plum, cherry, mulberry, raspberry, mocha, pepper and toasty oak spice with a long finish. Drink or hold. Grapes are hand-harvested with whole berry fermentation (a portion of the grapes are whole bunch fermented) and the wine was matured in large oak casks.

Shiraz food pairings: pork chops, grilled radicchio, beef prosciutto, black bean soup, blue cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jay Denney rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Outstanding value from one of my favourite Aussie producers. Hailing from the Great Western region of Victoria Province, which has a cooler climate than the more famous Barossa, here you will find a Shiraz that is as elegant as it is powerful. Delightful floral aromas pierce through the rich fruit and spice complexities on the palate. Drinks well now, but has enough oomph to lay down for another 3-5 years
