Natalie's Score: 89/100

Smoky, toast, full-bodied Spanish red wine with notes of dark red fruit and leather. This wine is made from the country's classic red grape Tempranillo. This Spanish winery is situated about 300 miles south of Bordeaux. The Baron de Ley estate even looks like a French Château. This wine is matured in both American and French oak barrels. Firm tannins that will smooth out with some cellar time then decant 1-2 hours. Pair with lamb and rosemary.

Food pairings: barbecued chorizo sausage, lamb skewers, French cheeses.

Estate bottled, Baron De Ley Reserva (2011) is a toasty, smoky, robust red wine from Rioja. This is a full-bodied and rich red made from 100% Tempranillo. This winery is situated about 300 miles south of Bordeaux. The wine was matured in American and French oak barrels. There are some firm tannins on this wine which will smooth out with some cellar time. Otherwise, decant 1-2 hours. Pair with lamb and rosemary. - Community Wine Reviews
