Reif Estate Winery Riesling 2013, Niagara River, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: A delicate, light-bodied, off-dry Riesling with aromas of pear and peach. Flat Rock Riesling 2013, Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The Vintages Catalogue says 2014 but we tasted the 2013 vintage. Green apple and white pear. Love it. Building an inukskuk is now a ritual at the end of harvest for this winery: lifting the heavy stones requires a team effort. Pair with roast turkey and fun. Château De La Grave Caractère 2009, Côtes De Bourg, Bordeaux A.C., France: Very sexy Merlot on the nose and palate. Exceptional for the price. Note the vintage is 2009. Drink: 2014-2020. 224683 14% D 750 mL  $17.95 Score: 91/100. September 13, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review

Remy Pannier Sevre et Maine sur lie Muscadet 2013, Loire Valley, France: Here's a terrific alternative to Chablis (unoaked Chardonnay from Burgundy) for your shellfish: dry, crisp and refreshing. Perfect companion to oysters, mussels and clams. Aromas of lime and lemon. This is a terrific wine at a bargain price for the quality. You can also enjoy it as an aperitif. Loosen Bros. Dr. L Riesling 2013, Qualitätswein, Mosel, Germany: This is a wow wine year after year, and the 2013 vintage is no exception. Dr Loosen makes superb white wines at many price levels, this one being an entry level offering but it's no entry level wine in the sense of craftsmanship and flavour. Lime and lemon zest almost leap out of the glass, with delicate white floral and peach notes on the palate. Light- to medium-bodied and perfect for dishes with a touch of sweetness like glazed ham or pasta in a cream sauce. This Qualitätswein Q.B.A. over-delivers on every dimension. Puklus Pincésze, 3 Puttonyos Tokaji Aszú 2008, Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary: Splendid! Rich apricot, clementine unfolds on the palate enveloped by layers of ripe peach goodness. Supremely great dessert wine! Hungary's Tokaji region is renowned for making the "king of wines" - the sweet wine Tokaji Aszù. The more “Puttonyos,” which range from 3 to 6, the sweeter the wine. This lovely dessert elixir finishes with apricot preserves, pear, and clementine. The acidity and moderate sweetness makes it very balanced and suitable for nuts, cheeses and fruit-based desserts. This wine is dry, but it finishes with delicious flavours of dark chocolate. Pair it with grilled meats, especially chary pork chops. Yum!
