Here's a terrific alternative to Chablis (unoaked Chardonnay from Burgundy) for your shellfish: dry, crisp and refreshing. Perfect companion to oysters, mussels and clams. Aromas of lime and lemon. This is a terrific wine at a bargain price for the quality. You can also enjoy it as an aperitif.

Muscadet food pairings: mussels, oysters, chilled with poached fish in light sauce, other shellfish and seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fresh citrus lime and white tree fruit on nose and palate. Mouth-watering acidity. Great with shellfish and salads.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nice fairly aromatic wine, with hints of lemon and cracked shells on the beach.I also got the honeysuckle fragrance.Quite rich mouthfeel, with a fresh finish.Richer than expected;maybe that particular batch? Definitely seafood companion,be it fresh oysters,or chowder.
Alice Kubicek rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Bright lemon-green clarity with intense aromas of honeysuckle, melon, red apples and a hint of vanilla. Refreshing zesty acidity speaks of minerality with fruits of gooseberries, pears and apples. Long soft finish with apple.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Slightly floral aromas, including lavender, also some clean citrus notes as well. Refreshing, nice acidity, and also a bit of creaminess. Medium finish. This would be a great wine to have with summer seafood, or perhaps oysters.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A nice dry white with lemon, lemon zest, and minerailty. Refreshing and mouthwatering with a slight creamy, dairy characteristic from being vinified sur lie. With be great with one of my favorite dishes from back home in newfoundland, cod au gratin.
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Lemon lemon lemon.
Great muscadet that will pair perfectly with oysters. Would also be great with coquille saint-jacques.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Pale straw with aromas of crisp yellow apple and white flowers, but with a distinctive creamy aspect as well. The taste follows the aromas, including the creamy aspect The acidity is high, balancing the creaminess quite nicely.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Subtle aromas but bold flavours! Peach, apricot, yellow delicious apple, lemon and definitely some diary presence (hence the sur lie). Medium plus acidity, medium body, and medium-short tart lemon apple finish.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Alex: Zesty nose with lemon rind, bakers yeast, lime and seashell with a touch of white flowers. Saline palate, nice creamy leesiness, mouthwatering acidity, lime and lemon infused creamy, salty finish. 87pts
Priya: As winemaker Pierre Charon said, 2013 was not a very 'expressive' year and so I'm not surprised that there wasn't much to smell since I don't have the developed nose of Alex. I did taste the tart, lemon/lime flavour however! 84pts
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 74/100 with the following review:

Clear golden color.
Delicate bubble with aromas of lemon, lime and melon.

The palate is crisp, light-bodied and short.

Try it with mussels or take it like aperitif.

Serve it at 8-10 degrees.

Ready to drink.
