Burrowing Owl Athene 2016, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia V.Q.A., Canada: Burrowing Owl's Athene is a rich, full-bodied red wine blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon lushly layered with blackberry, black currant, meaty and savoury with toasty oak spice and well-integrated oak tannins, finishing long and satisfying on the palate. The Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes were hand-harvested from Burrowing Owl’s Vineyard on Black Sage Bench. Wine grapes were co-fermented to better marry the flavours. Journey's End Shiraz 2015, Stellenbosch W.O., South Africa: Journey's End is so named because the Shiraz wine grapes for this single-vineyard wine are grown in the foothills of the Hottentot Mountains overlooking False Bay, and so the "Journey's End".
