Georges Duboeuf Domaine Mont Chavy 2014, Morgon, Beaujolais A.C., France: Franck and Cyrille Chavy are fourth-generation winemakers on this Morgon grand cru estate in Beaujolais, with their father Henri. The vines are planted in the "charmes" and "corcelette" climats. The wine undergoes a 6-12 day maceration to increase the intensity and complexity of flavour. Juicy and mouth-watering with blackberries and a pleasantly long finish. Surprisingly full-bodied for Beaujolais and the Gamay grape, but then again, the Morgon region is among the best of Beaujolais and capable of producing great wines like this one.
