Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Delightful and yummy ripe raspberry and blueberry aromas. The palate is juicy with high acidity and a moderate tart cherry finish. Enjoy this light bodied red with Korean BBQ. Tasted Mar 2017 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Good Fleurie is what this producer excels at. This wine is exactly representative of what they typically offer. Fleurie needs to be delicate, light, fresh, and aromatic above all. This one has all that.
Beautiful colour. Wines can be delicate, like this one, and still stain the glass. It leaves nice purple and ruby film, as you swirl it. Partial-carbonic maceration was part of how this wine was made and it extracts lots of colour from the grapes.
Aromatically, there is a lot of typical Fleurie florality. Lavender, petunia, and violet. Black cherry, plum, raspberry, and some subtle leather and anise.
Dry, energetic, and fruity on the palate, this wine is packed woth fresh berry, and a pervasive spice on the finish. Licorice and baking spice, mostly.
This is a great wine for fall fare. It is great with poultry and pork, but also matches with ground beef and grilled chicken if you're reluctant to put the barbecue to bed.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby with intense sweet aromas from the glass.Ripe red fruit, vanilla, violets, Swedish berry candies round out the aroma profile. The aromas are pretty much repeated on the palate but sour cherry becomes more evident. Medium(+) cleansing acidity, drying tannins, medium-bodied, dry, and short tart cherry finish.

Produced by Gilles Gelin, the 2013 vintage of the southern French red wine Fleurie is made from Gamay grapes. Medium-bodied, smooth and lots of acidity. - Community Wine Reviews
