Finca Mantrax is located in the Los Chacayes zone, a cool-climate vineyard about 1,300 meters above sea level made up of stony, clay and sandy soils that have travelled down the mountain's hillside. Hugh Hamilton Black Ops Shiraz Saperavi 2020, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: From the McLaren Vale wine region in South Australia, Black Ops 2020 is a dry, full-bodied red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Saperavi. Savoury, nuanced and well put together, the wine is a deep, dark purple in the glass (almost black and hence the name)and just as rich, deep and vibrant on the palate. An unusual combination that makes for a very interesting wine. Perfumed with exotic spices, earthy herbs, black plum, gamey flavours (in a good way) with judicious use of toasted oak and so the wine is not overpowering. Tannins are structured. Quails' Gate Estate Winery Stewart Family Pinot Noir 2020, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia V.Q.A., Canada: Quails' Gate Stewart Family Reserve 2020 Pinot Noir is dry, medium-bodied, fragrant, elegant and generous with dark cherry, savoury herbs, white pepper and baking spices silky-smooth on the palate.
