Réserve Pauillac

Mouton Cadet Réserve Pauillac 2015

Pauillac, Bordeaux, France
1991 days ago

Sally scored this wine: 89/100

Made with fruit from their partnership with Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The grapes are from one First growth vineyard and two Fifth growth vineyards. Well balanced and gently grippy with flavours of roasted dark fruits, dutch cocoa, smoke and vanilla bean. This would go great with grilled steak and a rosemary, tomato butter. Tasted June 4 2019

Rosé

Mouton Cadet Rosé 2018

Bordeaux, France
1991 days ago

Sally scored this wine: 86/100

An excellent value rosé from Mouton Cadet. Wild strawberries, white cherries and a fine salinity on the nose which is replicated on the palate with hints of soft herbs. Good body, it was matured sur-lie for 5 months, medium acidity and a pleasant lingering finish. Great with grilled shrimp, pork or a charcuterie board with hard cheeses. Tasted June 4th 2019

Paraje Altamira

Catena Paraje Altamira Malbec 2016

Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina
2004 days ago

Sally reviewed this wine:

Malbec lovers take note, everything you enjoy about this varietal is right here, crushed blueberries, blackberries and plums, fine minerality and a smooth finish with sweet baking spices and soft leather. Made with fruit from the Catena’s family Nicasia vineyard located in Argentina`s Paraje Altamira appellation at 3593 feet in elevation. This wine saw 5 days of cold maceration, 16 days fermentation and 10 days of post-fermentation maceration before ageing 12 month in a combination of 85% French and 15% American oak of which 35% was new. This is a structurally balanced wine and might just find itself on the table beside dry-rubbed ribs with roasted peppers and grilled haloumi. 90 points, tasted May 23rd 2019

Gold Label Brut Non-Vintage

Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars Gold Label Brut Non-Vintage

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada
2004 days ago

Sally reviewed this wine:

There’s no time like the present to start your collection for Canada Day and you’ll definitely want a few of these for the celebrations! This non-vintage, traditional method B.C. beauty from the Okanagan Valley was hand-harvested and is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 45.5% Chardonnay and 4.5% Pinot Gris. Fermented separately pre-blending with 2 years ageing sur-lie and then 6-9 months in cellar, it’s well integrated and balanced with a fine and lingering mousse. With flavours of fresh green apples, pears and bright lemon plus hints of white peach, cherries and toasted pain de mie. Pair with friends and fireworks? You bet! Smoked salmon with lemon and dill crème fraîche? B.C. doubles up and represents, but what about our east coast? Oysters and mignonette, bien sûre mes amis et bonne fête! 91 points, tasted May 23rd 2019
