This cool climate chardonnay from the Carneros region of California refutes the notion of ABC ( anything but chardonnay), a movement started in the 80s against over-oaked and excessively heavy chardonnay. In this rich full bodied wine, layers of apple, stone, and citrus fruit are balanced by refreshing acidity and attractive, well integrated, vanilla oak. Touches of minerality also support the lively fresh fruit flavours. This nicely integrated and elegant wine delivers on flavour and value. Pair with shellfish ( especially lobster or crab with butter), creamy pasta dishes, roasted chicken, pork, and soft rich, smoky or cheddar cheeses. Reviewed on November 16, 2019 by Brenda Valois.

Classic California style chardonnay with toasty oak flavours that lovers of this style tend to like. More restrained and elegant than many examples. The generous fresh apple, pear and citrus flavours are balanced by refreshing acidity that comes from the cooling ocean breezes and fogs that regularly roll in from the Sonoma coast. Some mineral flavours also add to the complexity. This wine delivers on taste and value. Food Pairings: Ideal with shellfish ( especially lobster or crab with drawn butter), rich pastas, anything creamy, and white meats including pork and roast chicken.
