Alice scored this wine: 70/100

Medium ruby with browning towards the rim, this Amarone has aromas of cooked frtui with some sherry-like aspects. Fruit flavours are tiring, with rounded tannins. The finish is short. Disappointing for this reviewer.

Alice scored this wine: 89/100

Medium ruby, cooked fruits and smokey overtones, with flavours of jamminess. figs, raisins and prunes. Medium acids and tannins, very well balanced and ready to drink on its own, with cheese or with steaks and frites. Excellent value for price.

Alice scored this wine: 85/100

Deep ruby colour, blackberries and black cherries, stewed fruit and black olives prominent on the nose. Hints of vanilla and capsicum pepper introduce a pleasant spiciness on the palate with, tasting of mixed berries, prunes and raisins. The tannins are stalky and the acids lively; the finish is long and pleasant. A fine complement to roast lamb or pork, savoury sauces and full-flavoured cheeses.

Réserve Des Coteaux

Château De Ricaud Réserve Des Coteaux 2010

Alice scored this wine: 88/100

Deep ruby in colour, this Bordeaux wine demonstrates its character with aromas of strawberries, cherries and redcurrants as well as eucalyptus and green olives. Barrelling lends savoury notes, marzipan, and rubber. Tannin is young, acids refreshing and fruit developing. A wine to enjoy with roasts, sauces and heavy cheeses or to lay in your cellar for another 5-8 years.

Cheval Noir 2012

Alice scored this wine: 91/100

Deep and bright ruby colour with a Bordeaux nose of cassis, cedar and eucalyptus. A mouthfeel of light fruits and dry tannins with a medium acidity that lasts and finishes on cherry notes. The subtle merlot flavours are overwhelmed by tannin but emerge with the finish. A bargain at the price, certainly a wine to purchase and pay down for another 5 - 8 years and to enjoy with rich sauces and meats.
