Jeff scored this wine: 93/100

Clear light gold in appearance, with typical lemon and green apples on the nose. An exciting creamy palate of cantelope melon, peach, and apples. A great example of a quality classic white burgundy with a very long finish. Pair with barbeque chicken as we did or a rich white sauce pasta dish. Jeff Osborne www.bcwineschool.com

Megalomaniac Eccentric Savagnin 2012

Jeff scored this wine: 93/100

A crisp dry Savagnin with a bouquet of herbs which carries through to the pallet. Fresh, & natural with clear notes of dill, some minerality, and a nice long finish. Though in its fun traditional bottle, this wine style is a world away from the "Vin Jaune" Savagnin wines from the Jura region of eastern France where this grape hails from. Typically heavily oxidized and often aged under flor yeast quite reminiscent of sherry, it's quite interesting to evaluate and enjoy the natural expression of Savagnin. Pairings include Ontario Pickerel, any fresh summer salad with a vinaigrette based dressing, or enjoy on its own with family and old friends as we did. Note the wine reviewed was the 2012 vintage purchased winery direct, while the one currently available in the LCBO is the 2010 vintage. Jeff Osborne

Petrol and minerality on the nose, green apple and honey on the pallet with a long finish. This wine has a long standing reputation among wine lovers and Restaurateur's in the Niagara region. Enjoy with Oysters, Salad, fish, or Roast Chicken.

This unique "kiln Dried" (partially dehydrated grapes) wine is quite rich is both aromas and flavors. Rich scents and flavors of Cooked plum, blackberry jam, and a hint of pepper and spice. This wine is a local favorite in the Niagara region and a personal favorite when I'm in the area. Enjoy with most hard cheeses, Mac & Cheese, Duck, or lean beef.

This "old vine" blend is full of red fruit on the nose, has rich raspberry, strawberry and spices on the palate and smooth velvety tannin's. We paired this with pork belly and Chinese crispy duck wraps and it was a fantastic match. Jeff Osborne http://www.bcwineschool.com/
