Molly Ziraldo scored this wine: 98/100

A rare treat. This 30 year old wine was still going strong. Ruby in colour with an aromatic nose full of sweet tobacco, clove and leather. This wine came to life on the palate, with depth and complexity with hints of fruit which added a delightful underlying sweetness. Silky and fine tannins made this wine velvety smooth and the finish was as impressive as the first sniff.

Lots of life still left in this 2005 Shiraz. Everything that an Australian Shiraz is known for, big, bold and powerful. Spice, black pepper and tobacco notes on the nose with a full and lush palate, round with delicate tannins still giving this wine a sturdy backbone.

This 2012 Cab Sauv from the Care Valley is a decadent treat and plump full of flavour. Strong notes of cassis and blackcurrant on the nose. The palate is actually more expressive than its' aroma's. Bursting full of juicy, ripe, red fruit, with a rich and full mouth feel. Silky tannins, this wine is an easy drinking red with surprising sweetness. A red wine that does fine on its own; a smooth and satisfying treat.

When I first smelt this wine there was a confectionary fruit note that I couldn't quite put my finger on, and then it dawned on me, it was like smelling a packet of cherry flavoured jello. A very candy-esque wine, it gave a lot more structure and depth on the palate which was a pleasant surprise. Fruit forward, smooth and rich; everything you want from a SA Cab Sauv. I very enjoyable wine, which is easy drinking but could stand up to a quality meal or two.

Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2013

This has been a go to Sauvignon Blanc for me for many years. It's the quintessential Marlborough Sauv Blanc embodying the traits that put this region on the map. A powerful and aromatic nose entices you with zesty, citrus, tropical and gooseberry notes. Lively acidity on the plate, but well balanced and refreshing with lingering notes and lemon and lime.
