A garnet hued Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon offering generous aromas of ripe red cherry, black berries, tobacco and savory spice. These spicy, ripe red fruit flavours are replayed on the palate along with a bodacious sensation, and some pleasing suede tannins. Great value. Not a typical Cab and that's a good thing. This is a full-bodied wine with high acidity, good ripe fruit and complexity to match. A pretty classic good quality Chianti that would pair well with a variety of Italian dishes. So rich, the nose is assailed by ripe cherries, blackberry, cigar box, stewed fruit and a suggestion of cedar and these flavours are replayed on the palate along with a full-bodied mouthfeel and moderate acidity. This Cali Cab is on the verge of opacity and would pair with a assortment of cheese or fine meat dishes. I'd love this with medium-rare bison steak. Reviewed March 11, 2018.
