Wallace By Ben Glaetzer Glaetzer Wines Shiraz Grenache 2007

Rich, full bodied and delicious. Very full on fruit with perhaps a tinge too much alcohol. Will please the Parker posse!

Cloudy Bay Chardonnay 2008

Cloudy Bay was the label that brought New Zealand to the World Wine Stage with their 'groundbreaking' Sauvignon Blanc. Personally, I think there are better Sav Blancs out there and that their Chardonnay is definitely more interesting. Hints of peach and biscuit with a nice edge of minerality.

Dr. Loosen Dr. L Riesling 2009

A fresh zingy Riesling with the perfect level of sweetness as a summer tipple that's a little different [and perhaps more interesting] than your traditional pinot Grigio. Medium body with quite low alcohol with gorgeous peach and mineral notes.

Marlborough

Oyster Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Like NZ Sav Blanc? This wine delivers that typical fresh lime acidity of good Kiwi Sav Blancs but at half the price. Extraordinarily good value for a wine that delivers gooseberry flavours and aromas of wines that are twice the price. Fresh crisp acidity make this a delicious summer tipple.

The Dead Arm

d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz 2006

Mclaren Vale, Australia

Aussie shiraz is more commonly thought of as big ballsy high alcohol fruit bombs. Dead Arm by d'Arenberg in Adelaide Hills is very different. This wine has a much more European feel; it's flavours of blackberry and herb are elegant rather than a kick in the teeth, the sweetness is subtle perfectly matched with defined tannins and superb length. Ridiculously good value - wine punches well above its weight.
