Bernard Weinert founded his Bodega in Luján de Cuyo in 1975, and quickly made a name for himself in Argentina and beyond. This Malbec has solid structure, and is teeming with black cherry, blackberry, dark plum, prune and leather notes. Nicely balanced, there's mature fruit here, but also some crispness. Put on a pot of your favourite chili, or marinade some steak, and enjoy. (VINTAGES panel, March 2010)

Steve reviewed this wine:

Good bright colour; a fragrant bouquet, with a cascade of red and black fruits coursing through the medium-bodied palate, with notes of chocolate and vanilla on the finish. Drink [until] 2015. Score - 94. (James Halliday, www.winecompanion.com.au, August 2008)
