David Lawrason Great value from a Rhône vintage that is among the best in my memory. It sports very fragrant, ripe lush plummy fruit with classic anise, herbs and a sprinkle of pepper. It’s fresh, supple, generous and open knit, although there is some tannic grit as well. Lovely, very long plummy and peppery finish. Buy a case and if you can keep your hands off it should age nicely for another three to five years. Tasted February 2012. (90) Steve Thurlow An elegant soft Cotes du Rhone with a very appealing nose of blackberry fruit with tobacco, fig and floral complexity. It is midweight and very smooth with some finely divided tannin giving nice mouthfeel. Well balanced with very good length. Will develop more complexity with a year or two in the cellar. Best 2013 to 2016. Try with roast meats or brie cheese. Tasted February 2012.
