Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir 2006

Mornington Peninsula, Australia

Ian scored this wine: 95/100

Vibrant ruby red colour. The bouquet is dominated by red and black cherry with supporting earth and spice notes. The palate is cherry and spice notes with pronounced minerality. Currently the wine is very youthful with bright acidity and supporting firm but very fine tannins. Showing plenty of promise for further development. With careful cellaring, this wine has very good potential for ageing.

Nose: Lemon marmalade, caramelized oranges, peaches and touch of honey. Palate: Intense flavours of honey, lemon, star fruit, quince and brown sugar. Sweet citrus and star fruit linger on the finish. Food Match: Soft cheeses, or spicy cuisine.

Lovely bright peach and pear notes with some other tropical fruit. Medium-bodied, off-dry and juicy. Absolutely delightful!

Ripe and juicy, with tangerine, lime and mineral aromas and flavors. Shuts down a little, needing time to integrate, yet all the components are in the right place. Finishes long.
