Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a refreshing rose blended from Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir. Aromas of strawberry, watermelon, white peach and orange blossom. Light and refreshing, with crisp acidity, and bright fruit and berry flavours on the palate. Enjoy with pork or salmon dishes.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A VQA Rosé from Niagara Peninsula’s Wayne Gretzky Estates. A balanced Rosé blend - dominated with 80% Pinot Noir, 17% Pinot Grigio and a smidgen of 3% Gamay for good measure. Pretty pale pink coloured with aromas of gala apple, strawberry and cantaloupe. Flavours are bright and red-berry filled with a splash of sweet mandarin orange at the end. Refreshing acidity complements this fruit-forward rosé. Crisp and light. It’s a great one... to be enjoyed after a summery game of street hockey. Enjoy! - tasted April 2021
David Skinner rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Salmon pink and clean. The nose is medium intensity with strawberry, white peach and melon. Mouth watering acidity and well balanced. On the palate there is citrus and peaches that persist into a medium long finish.

Served with a strawberry, mozzarella and basil Bruschetta this paring was perfect.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Wayne and friends get the “win” with this lovely VQA Rose. Red berry and orange blossom aromas with strawberry and melon flavours. Well-balanced with zippy acidity. And oh so pretty in the glass. Pair at your next picnic with fresh corn chips and mild guacamole
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Springtime in your glass!
What better way to usher in warmer weather than a glass of rosé wine. And this blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio from Wayne Gretzky Estates hits the mark.
Heady aromas of nectarines, honeydew melon, and white flowers swirl in the glass, transforming into a mouthwatering citrus finish on the palate.
Perfect with goat cheese garden salads.
Tasted May 2021.
Janet Holden rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pretty in pink! This crisp and refreshing rosé has aromas of strawberries, stone fruits, pear, apple and floral notes. It is zesty with a crisp citrus finish that pairs well with a light pasta with vongole (clam) sauce.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nothing says spring and summer like a delicious Rosé wine! This extra-dry wine from the Gretzky Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake is a great value and currently available at many of the LCBO outlets.

An interesting blend of predominantly Pinot Noir with some Pinot Grigio and a touch of Gamay added in. Coppery pink in the bottle with aromas of white stone fruit and fresh wild strawberries. At 12% alcohol this is a light body wine that delivers on the palate. Fresh berries, cherry, and currant with some citrus tang and a medium to long finish. Tasted May 1/2021
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

VQA Niagara Escarpment $16.99

Patio season is here!
Medium salmon colour in the glass at sundown. Abundance of stone fruit, Niagara Springtime blossoms, stony minerality, ripe strawberry, raspberry, crisp bite apple, and sweet baking spices.
This wine is crafted with 80% Pinot Noir, 17% Pinot Grigio, and 3% Gamay from trusted négocient in the region.
A lip smacking finish.
Perfect with grilled chicken breast marinated with coffee and black pepper rub.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Crafted with Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio, this elegant, aromatic rosé is ready to be uncorked and poured. Pretty scents suggestive of u pick strawberries, and fresh tangerine slices backed by melon and floral undertones. Medium bodied, positively dry, pleasing crisp acidity and a strawberry tangerine focussed finish. Pour this orange - pink hued creation all year round. Butter drizzled shellfish dishes will love this wine. Enjoy.

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautiful copper pink wine, with a pronounced aroma of peach, citrus, strawberry and watermelon. Medium bodied, dry and food friendly acidity. A strong citrus finish in the mouth with contributions of peach, watermelon and strawberry. Paired well with grilled chicken and vegetables marinated with lemon and garlic vinaigrette and a mild tasting salad of organic greens and peppers with apple cider vinaigrette. One of summers simple pleasures!
