One of my favourite Californian sparkling wines year after year. This one isn't vintage dated. Toasty and fresh at a great price. Don't limit yourself to pre-dinner toasts and New Year's Eve with this terrific bubbly: drink it throughout the meal and throughout the year. In fact, why not make a resolution to do so now? Pair with fried fish, oysters and other shellfish.

Food pairings: chicken, curried dishes, pretzels, green peppers.

Reviews and Ratings

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Toasty nose with hints of apple, strawberry and citrus zest. Rich in flavour. Prepared in the traditional method with pinot noir and chardonnay grapes. Bubbles galore with long lasting creaminess. Ready to open and enjoy anytime!
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The gold standard for California sparklings, and certainly well priced. These folks have connections to the historic family that founded Freixenet. They put a strong emphasis in growing quality Pinot Noir and they are one of the wineries that helped solidify Carneros reputation in producing the notoriously fickle grape.
Delicate lemon yellow with a very nice, fine mousse. Brioche and biscuit dough on the nose, with plenty of ripe citrus and tart mack apple.
Lots of lively acidity and persistent bubbles. Flavours of lemon scone, zest, honey, tangerine, fuji apple, and guava.
This bubbly is mostly Pinot Noir grapes with some Chardonnay in the blend made in the traditional method. It was bottle fermented and aged 18 months on its yeast to add creaminess and rich texture. This non-vintage sparkler was awarded Best Non-Vintage Brut at the 2018 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition. - Community Wine Reviews
