Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Delicious fruit-forward wine from California, the Conundrum 2020 offers aromas of plum sauce, jam, cinnamon, new leather, spice and butterscotch. Blended from Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is full-bodied and balanced, with a warm and coating finish and an incredible long-lasting cooked fruit presence. Flavors of strawberry jam, ripe dark cherry, cinnamon, barbecue sauce, smoke and butterscotch. A must try with red meat. Enjoy!
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Everything about this Californian red blend is big… to beneficial effect. The aromas and flavours that evoke ripe dark cherries and berries, nice touch savoury spices and smoky cedar – BIG. The weight, texture, tannin pull and finish – BIG. The 14.6% abv - BIG

Crafted primarily with petite sirah, zinfandel and cabernet sauvignon from across California, this delicious red is for contemplation and not crushing. I’d serve this with BBQ or hard cheeses in a heartbeat.

Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lush and intense, rich, ripe blackberry/black currant nose with inviting sweet spice, licorice and brown sugar aromas. Juicy/jammy berry and black cherry palate offset by substantial alcohol, medium acidity and velvety tannins - although a bit on the sweet side, this is big and flavourful wine. Will stand up to chilli and please the bbq crowd!
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This ruby coloured Californian wine offers concentrated notes of strawberry on the nose along with cassis jam, dried rose petals, dried eucalyptus, cigar box, cedar, milk chocolate and smoke.

Full bodied and smooth on the palate with just a hint of sweetness and notes of cherry, field berry pie filling, subtle potpourri, and a milk chocolate finish.

Perfect rib wine.

"a confusing and difficult problem or question"
The difficult question here is what red meat are you going to pair with this BIG, juicy lush wine??
Very aromatic with aromas of cooked black fruit, ripe blackberry, vanilla and cocoa. Plush mouthfeel with smooth tannins and flavours of ripe cherry and blackberry. High alcohol and a bit on the sweet side - it would be the perfect foil for Memphhis bbq'd ribs, steaks and grilled burgers

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deeply coloured and flavoured, this California red blend has aromas of blackberry, plum, caramel, cocoa, warm cpice and cedar. Full bodied, with some soft, drying tannins, ripe jammy fruit, and a drying, spicy and smoky finish. Enjoy with any grilled meats.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A simple, not complex, deep purple coloured red wine. Aromas of caramel, mocha, prune, jammy blackberry, stewed fruit, molasses, strong black licorice, chocolate, even Kit Kat, some kirsch and anise. A full bodied, off dry wine of medium acidity, not well balanced. Aromas repeated in the palate. Try pairing with hot, spicy BBQ ribs!
