Ray Duncan and his four sons founded Twomey Cellars in 1999 with the same philosophy that Ray and Justin Meyer established for Silver Oak: create food-friendly wine that is deliciously drinkable upon release. With Twomey, however, we apply that philosophy to varietals other than Cabernet Sauvignon, the flagship of Silver Oak. We combine winemaking experience with a spirit of innovation, enabling us to work with different varietals, winemaking techniques and some of the best vineyard sites in California.

Ben Cane joined our winemaking team in 2007. Today, he is the Winemaker for our Pinot Noir Program. He has expanded the Twomey portfolio to include four Pinots, each representing the very best Pinot growing regions and sites in California. Ben has travelled the world to study and hone his winemaking skills, but his passion for Pinot Noir developed while working at Arcadian in Santa Barbara. Ben’s vision for Twomey Pinot Noir is to craft a wine that expresses the uniqueness and terroir of each vineyard site with finesse and balance by blending old world techniques with new world innovation and technology.im and David, launched Twomey Cellars in 1999, based on Winemaker Daniel Baron’s vision of creating a world-class California Merlot. Tim and David, who act as Managing Partners of Twomey, are self proclaimed Pinot Noir enthusiasts. Their shared passion for this varietal lead to the creation of our Pinot Noir Program in 2002. Four years later we began producing Sauvignon Blanc from our Estate Vineyard in Calistoga.Twomey Cellars is owned by the Duncan family, founders of Silver Oak Cellars. Their commitment to producing exceptional handcrafted wines is the driving force behind the winery’s success.
