Our estate consists of 306 acres, 100 of which are devoted to the cultivation of grapes. The topography of Left Coast is a bowl, with steep hills facing west, north and south, creating a natural amphitheater surrounding a large meadow and spring fed lake, central to the gravity fed irrigation of our vines. We have chosen to plant grapes on only the predominantly southern facing slopes. The remainder of the property is preserved as one of the last remaining stands of original old growth White Oaks in the area and also contains fruit orchards, meadows, lakes and streams. The bodies of water attract migrating birds and encourage birds of prey, helping to balance animal life in the vineyards. An increasing importance is being placed on the park like nature of the property through expanded gardening and flowering areas. Additionally, four acres of hazelnut trees, shrub roses and holly oaks were planted to foster the cultivation of European truffles that we view as a welcome complement to our fine wine production.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
