Lakeland Winery, Inc., based in Syracuse, New York, began in the autumn of 2005. Formerly known as Vine 2 Wine, they had the distinction of being the first personalized winemaking facility in the state of New York. We invite you to tour the winery with its current owner and Head Winemaker, Andy Watkins. Experience for yourself what personalizing your own custom handcrafted wine is all about.
Why Personalized Winemaking?
Join hundreds of wine enthusiasts in CNY who have personalized the winemaking experience at Lakeland Winery. No need to invest hundreds of dollars on equipment or deal with the mess to clean up in your basement. You come in to taste and choose the kind of wine you want, then the fermentation process begins and is completed according to your personal selection. Each jug of handcrafted wine makes about 30 bottles. The award winning taste of your wine can be enjoyed after only 6 to 12 months of aging. [Read more...]
There are several advantages to making your own custom, personalized wine at our winery rather than making wine at home.
First
Your custom wine is either handcrafted by you (our Personalized Winemaking service) or by our fully-trained winemakers.(our Adopt a Jug of Wine service).

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
