La Cidrerie du village: (Four generations) of artisan cider-makers ... The family tradition begins with Ernest and Dorienne Dubé the grandparents.

The beginnings are modest, native of St-Paul d'Abotsford, Ernest works in Rougemont with an apple grower in the area from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. After his day's work, Ernest makes his apple trees (roots and varieties) for his future orchard.

In the years 1950 to 1970 Ernest became a cider farmer. by making his first ciders with the help of his son Bernard. Formerly banned but tolerated until the 1970s. It was in 1970 that Bernard and Thérèse bought the family orchard. The packaging and distribution of apples in grocery stores is the main activity of the time.

The Cidrerie du village was born from the Bernard Dubé orchards and since 1996 the Bernard Dubé orchards and the Cidrerie du village have a license to manufacture and sell artisanal cider. Our products are sold only on site.

Francis and Sylvain, Bernard's son, took a course on cider making and some techniques were given to us by the Fathers of St-Benoit du Lac.

Currently we have 7 varieties of cider to our credit: 3 still, 2 sparkling traditional method, 1 aperitif and now 1 ice cider.

To conclude, La Cidrerie du Village is a family business that is always ready to improve its products in order to maintain a high level of quality.

Come see us directly at our kiosks in Rougemont or call us to reserve and we will be happy to show you around the premises in addition to tasting our products on site.

The kiosk offers a variety of small homemade sweets, such as jellies, syrup, apple pies as well as ketchup, a specialty of Ms. Dubé.

Take a detour to the main street, come and discover the delights of the kiosk In the land of apples

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
