Hinzerling Winery is the oldest family owned and operated winery in Yakima Valley. Hinzerling is located the city of Prosser in the Yakima Valley of Washington State.

On August 1, 2001 we opened the Vintner's Inn at Hinzerling Winery a small country inn dedicated to the enjyment of Yakima Valley food, wines and microbrews. The Inn features two B&B rooms- click on the Inn above or call us at 1-800-727-6702 for up-to-date information or reservations.

The Wallace family, came from the Seattle area ( about 200 miles west of Prosser), in 1972 and planted a pioneering 23 acre vineyard 6 miles north of Prosser on the Roza Irrigation District.

The elder statesman, and resident curmudgeon of the family is Jerry Wallace, a former Detective Lieutenant with the Seattle PD. Son, Mike Wallace, is winemaker. Mike was a medical researcher and did graduate work at U.C.. Davis , in the Department of Viticulture and Enology.

Mike, likes to produce small lots of boldly flavored wines, specializing in wine types and styles that tend to be out of the current mainstream of the US wine scene- a dry Gewurztraminer, heavy duty, ageable reds, ports, sherries, other dessert and late harvest wine styles. Hinzerling has a number of wine and food related events at the winery each year.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
