Lou Facelli was born in Santa Cruz, California. His father was a very successful restauranteur. His grandfather, an excellent farmer and lover of the land. These two men provided inspiration and appreciation for good food and wine.

In 1981 Lou began his winemaking career and since then he has been praised and awarded for his ability to handcraft fine wines from Washington grapes.

The Facelli family's passion for making wine is unmistakable, and they are thankful for their customers and friends that have supported them throughout the years.

Welcome to the Facelli Winery website. I am Kristi, the youngest of the Facelli family here to tell you a little bit about our winery.

Established in 1988, our winery humbly finds itself in a business park, in the heart of Woodinville's "Wine Country". What we lack in ambience we gain in wine quality, consistency, and personality. My dad Lou, my mom Sandy, my two sisters Lisa and Lori, along with myself, take turns working each weekend. We look forward to meeting our customers and providing them with an enjoyable wine tasting experience. Our tasting room is open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 pm, with the exception of major holidays. Autographed bottles are a big hit with customers when my dad is around.

This is my dad's 30th vintage working with Washington fruit. I remember as a young girl my dad being quoted, "Your wines are only as good as the fruit you start with." That belief continues today. My family appreciates everyone working in the vineyard for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the years. Our grapes are contracted from the Columbia Valley, Red Mountain, and Yakima Valley Appellations, where we have built relationships with some of the best growers in the State of Washington. Our grapes are hand picked, hand sorted, and processed with gravity.

Our production is around 2,500 cases annually. The emphasis is on single vineyard, 100% varietal wines. This focus provides our customers with very distinctive wines that reflect the highest quality and value. Our wines can be purchased at our tasting room or through our website only. We are not available in grocery stores or wine shops however they can be found in selected local restaurants. This makes Facelli wine the perfect gift for any occasion. We invite you to stop by on a Saturday or Sunday, we'd love to meet you!

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
