Terrific value for this supple, medium- to full-bodied red with dark cherry-berry flavours and aromas. This blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Merlot and Gamay Noir grapes would be a crowd pleaser at a party.

Named Varietal Blends-Red food pairings: pork tenderloin and ham, mushroom risotto, cottage BBQ steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Tasted in early 2015, this wine is at its prime. The 2010 vintage "Union" is garnet coloured, 13.5% ABV. This wine is a Niagara Peninsula VQA blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir varietals. On the nose this wine shows dark cherry, Anis, earthy minerality, A hint of ripe strawberry , plum and tobacco leaf. Same Esters on Show in the palate. This wine is medium body, well integrated and well-balanced. This wine is actually named union as the winemaker appropriately suggests that earth and fruits have been brought together in "union". Pair this wine with BBQ honey garlic sausage, saucy wings, braised and basted ribs or with roasted beet salad. Enjoy now.
A blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Gamay Noir and Pinot Noir, Union Red is medium to full bodied with excellent ripeness that leads with red berry characteristics.
