Fantastic for the price! Full-bodied and juicy with layers of mouth-watering flavours: blackberry pie and black plums. Smooth and terrific. Loaded with toasty oak. Dark purple hue with accented highlights of lavender around the edges. Aromas of black cherry, cassis and dried herbs on the finish. Great party wine. Decant 2 hours.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled meats and vegetables, stew, pizza, grilled or spice-rubbed chicken, fajitas.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Oh, yum! From Barossa Valley, Australia comes this dark garnet gem. A spicy red fruit nose followed by an excellent palate giving dark red fruit, zippy spice and oak. Dry, well-balanced mouthfeel and a long spicy red fruit finish. More, please!
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Numerous awards and great value at $18. Lots of layered quality here for the price of this Aussie Shiraz. Plum, cherry, chocolate, black pepper, cake spices, and violets. The acidity is medium+ and cleansing. A nice lingering fruit and pepper finish. This wine is drinking nicely but there's good fruit/acid for aging potential. This merits buying 2 or more bottles. Serve with thick barbecue sauce ribs.
