Zonte's Footstep Chocolate Factory 2020 Shiraz is a rich and intense vegan-friendly 100% Shiraz sourced from the cool-climate McLaren Vale and great value at $22. Fragrant with smoked meat, earthy violets, dark cherry and nutty aromas and flavours silky smooth on the palate. Tannins are fine-grained and velvety. The wine was aged in both American and French oak barrels for one year. Excellent now or cellar to 2030.

Shiraz food pairings: rosemary lamb, kangaroo tenderloin, roast pheasant.

Reviews and Ratings

Trent Mayers rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

If you are a lover of the big style of Shiraz, this one from Australia’s hot McLaren Vale will make your day. A half hour or so in the decanter will help open it up. Then you should experience all it has to offer: black plum and cherry, dark chocolate, espresso, blackberry, and cedar mingled nicely with baking spice and vanilla. BBQ a flavourful cut of beef (marinated flank steak would be good) and this wine will be the perfect companion.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
