A lovely oloroso sherry that's not as sweet as a cream cherry; rather it has a terrific dark nutty, black toffee goodness (thus Walnut Brown). Try this sometime instead of tawny port with hard cheeses, toasted nuts or crème brûlée.

Sherry food pairings: spice cake, crème brûlée, fruit-based desserts, pastries, fresh field berries in cream.

"Oloroso" translated means "fragrant" in English. This is not so much as a sweet sherry as it is nutty, raisined with a ginger spice nose. Lovely with hard cheeses and roasted nuts. Great value here. - Community Wine Reviews
