From the Niagara Peninsula wine region, Wayne Gretzky 2019 Whisky oak aged Chardonnay is a rich, full-bodied, smoky Chard with ripe peach, apple, vanilla, caramel and toasty oak spice flavours on the palate. A portion of the wine was fermented in stainless-steel tank with the balance (48%) in whisky oak aged barrels. Chill and enjoy with roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Wayne Gretzky 2019 Chardonnay, aged in whisky barrel, exposes aromas of yellow apple, apricot, lime peel, butter, caramel vanilla and oak. Medium-bodied, this delicious and well made Chardonnay pleases with its lingering finish. Perfect for sipping after dinner. Palate: pear, pineapple, meyer lemon, citrus blossom, toast, spice and vanilla. Enjoy!
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From Ontario Canada's Niagara Peninsula appellation, this touched by oak Chardonnay awakens the senses with upfront notes of tropical fruit and ripe yellow pear plus some whisky barrel influenced hints of spice and toasted oak. Medium bodied, dry, round, with refreshing acidity, this Chardonnay would pair nicely with dish built around slow roasted rotisserie chicken. Enjoy.
