Savoury, juicy fleshy ripe purple and black plums on the nose and palate. A smoky, savoury full-bodied Argentine wine with wood smoke and card smoke on the nose. Great price. Pair with barbecued meats or even better have a traditional asada -- BBQ in Argentina.

Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: Salisbury steak, garlic and fresh green herbs hamburgers on the barbeque, pasta with rich tomato and meat sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Bodega Vistalba lies in the heart of the Luján de Cuyo region. Here wines are blended to take advantage of the full-bodied wine from Argentina's flagship grape, Malbec, and, in this example, Cabernet Sauvignon. Vines for Corte (the cut) were grown almost 1,000 metres above sea level, allowing the grapes to gather their sugars in the cool of the night and ripen in the heat of the day. The blended wine has seen some French oak ageing as well. The nose is smoky with ripe black fruit and the wine is full-bodied, soft and full with black plum, prunes, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours. A great buy. - Community Wine Reviews
