Villa Maria Taylors Pass 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is produced from sustainably-grown grapes from a single vineyard. Just a delightfully, fresh and herbed SB with mouth-watering acidity to match lime zest, lemongrass, chive, white-fleshed peach, nectarine and leesy mineral flavours long and harmonious on the palate. Drink or hold.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: salads topped with warm goat cheese and pickled beets, grilled chicken breasts, quiche, onion tarte.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This Sauvignon Blanc has charming aroma combination evoking of passion fruit, lime, hay and sea stones that is not shy so spend some time with it. Harvested from a single vineyard, this creation feels delightfully dessert dry, medium bodied with some moderate touch acidity. And this feeling connects beautifully with the wine’s lingering citrusy and herbal flavours. Enjoy this with some grilled seafood skewers.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Hailing from the Awatere Valley region of Marlborough, Taylors Pass Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is delightful. Classic notes of Gooseberry, pear and lemongrass. This New Zealand Savvy is flinty, bright and mineral driven with delicate nuances of sweet leafy-green herbs. Lifted flavours of pomelo citrus with a crisp vein of acidity balancing throughout. Incredibly well structured with a lingering zesty finish. The best pairing for this refreshing treat is another glass! Also suited well for poached herbed white fish, and a cool creamy goats cheese salad. Enjoy! - tasted October 2021
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Crisp and elegant, a beautiful expression of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from a winery that knows how to grow and make this superb varietal.
Aromas of fresh cut herbs, asparagus and lime carry through to zesty lime flavours.
Medium+ acidity yet mouth coating and luxurious finish.
Pair with creamy pasta or fish and chips.
Tasted July 2021.
