A savory, meaty, juicy ripasso: a red wine to chew on with deep satisfaction. Cedar, chewy black cherry layers float happily on full-bodied weight. The Ripasso method takes leftover pomace from making Amarone wine and adds it to a Valpolicella wine to start a second fermentation and in doing so, adds alcohol, body, tannin and flavour to the final wine. Yes please!

Reviews and Ratings

Corinna Horton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Woodsy, with deep fruit and hit of spice. It's in tense dark cherry is a reminder of why I love Valpolicella and all it's richness and complexity. The tannins are broad and smooth making this a deceptively charming wine, next thing you know you're wondering where it went!

Pair with duck confit grilled cheese, raclette, rack of lamb, or a spicy tartar.
Gorgeous concentration here with almost raisined, cherry fruit aromas. This traditional technique of ripasso truly adds richness and depth to this red wine. - Community Wine Reviews
