Natalie's Score: 89/100

This robust Spanish red wine is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano grapes for the 2012 vintage. It's fresh and intense with a modern style of winemaking. A lively Spanish red wine that's bone-dry and earthy on the palate. Dark fruit and some smoke. Full-bodied and relatively smooth though decant for 1-2 hours and pair with lamb in rosemary.

Food pairings: pasta with a tomato sauce, roasted venison, beef and veggie stew, leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A delightful full bodied Spanish red wine - lots of dark fruit, licorice, earth and smoke - mostly Tempranillo (90%), could develop a little longer in the bottle. Great value.
Marco Giovanetti rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pitted cherry note, prunes and jammy black fruit. Woody .Pleasant in a modern style but clinging to its tradition. Delicious. Chunky fruit. Medium plus acidity. Very long.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Toffee, cherry and leather notes with a mildly tannic mouthfeel, balanced acidity and a long spearmint, milk chocolate finish. Enjoy this medium Spanish red with MEATZZA. Tasted Sept 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Valdemar Inspiración Selección (2012) is a 65% Tempranillo, 25% Graciano and 10% Maturana red wine blend from the Rioja wine region. Drink now and for the next five years. Pair with hardy game dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
