Lovely! Over-delivered just like it's entry-level brethren. Smooth and medium- to full-bodied with attractive fleshy dark fruit and a nice smokiness.

Food pairings: barbecued rib-eye steaks, ribs, charcuterie platter.

Reviews and Ratings

Erin rated this wine as 89/100
Brad rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

I found this to be a light bodied, somewhat fruity red wine. It lacked the body you would typically see and taste in a red wine from a hotter region. Hints of mint and black licorice on the nose.
This unique wine blends Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc with Merlot, Gamay and Syrah and was aged for 12 months in French oak. The 2010 is the inaugural vintage. Layered aromas of wild raspberry, redcurrant, cherry, hickory, smoked meat, vanilla and black pepper. On the palate it’s dry showing red fruit and smoky notes at the fore, with brilliant acidity and fine tannins giving delineation and structure. A great food wine. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.
