Chocolate, espresso, coffee and dark chocolate on the nose and palate from oak aging. A dark, brooding red wine with toasty oak and black fruit flavours. Notes of blackberries and cassis wrap themselves around grilled meats. Good finish with lots of chocolate and mocha from generous oak aging. Pair with a t-bone steak.

Food pairings: grilled Porterhouse steak with roasted vegetables, lamb lollipops, braised beef short ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

A robust southern Californian blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Syrah grapes. This winery is located in the center of California's Central Coast, Paso Robles, and the vines for this wine grow in calcareous soils. Treana is the Hope Family Wines' flagship label. Treana is named fro the trinity of elements that make and influence the wine: sun, sea and soil. - Community Wine Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
