Reviews and Ratings

Nose offers aromas of smoke, cedar and red fruit. The palate has red plum, currant and vanilla. Well balanced overall with a nice finish.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Nice wood and dark fruit on the nose. Tart dark fruit with good acid. Full bodied, well balanced. Nice wine for red meats. Tasted Jan 31/16
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a wonderful 2012 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva from Mendoza Argentina, dense ruby red and 14.5% ABV. This wine is an exceptional value for quality. Aromatics of concentrated red and black fruit, baking spices dominant, with sweet plum and cassis. This wine is smooth and pleasant on many levels, supple in concentration, and ready to enjoy now or celllar until 2020. Tasted Jan 2016 decanted 2 h.
Jennifer CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Rich, ripe and full-bodied balance with smoky, earthy, cedar forest notes and black fruit aromas and flavors. Excellent value.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A very earthy Cabernet. Lots of cedar, and earthy and woodsy notes on the nose. Some bright red fruit comes across on the palate. Nice contrast, along with some bright acidity. Tannins are structured, but not overwhelming. Would be a lovely match for some rustic mushroom dishes or a nice steak.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby with aromas of sour cherry, India ink, and mushrooms. The taste is big red berry with Cassis and raspberry up front. Very juicy. There's a little touch of grippy tannins. This would pair nicely with a rare steak, or a dry rubbed pork roast.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Earthy, woodsy, wild blueberries, and hints of leather on the nose. Tannins may soften over time in the bottle. Wonderful with beef or lamb burgers. Drink now, or enjoy in 5 years.
Tasted January 2016.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A complex nose of red fruit, blueberries, cassis, spice, steeped tea and underbrush. On the palate it is rich, ripe stewed dark fruit, with medium plus tannins, cedar box, and earthiness. A long finish of spice and stewed fruit lingers in a good way and would pair perfectly with a roast beef with a mushroom sauce. For the price this a great deal.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Trapiche Fincas Las Palmas Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is a great wine at a great price. Aromas and flavours of sour cherry, raspberry and spice. A full bodied wine worth the try! Tasted January 31, 2016 (90/100)
This Argentine Cabernet Sauvignon offers tremendous value and quality for the price point. Lots of dark fruit, spice and vanilla smoke. Pair with hearty meat dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
