Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Just wonderful! This is a Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and currant, as well as hints of vanilla, woodsmoke, and warm spices.Full bodied, with some medium, drying tannins, and lovely, balancing acidity. Fruit on the palate is robust and ripe, and the smoky and spicy hints are all wel balanced. Lovely all around, you can enjoy this now or over the next 5-8 years. Enjoy with any grilled steak.
A classic "Right-bank" Bordeaux style blend, the Benchmark Series 2018 Reserve 7 was primarily crafted with grapes from our estate Blue Terrace Vineyard in Oliver where we chose Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (32%) with rich, ripe fruit flavours. These were complimented by Cabernet Franc (17%) from Sunshine Acres in Oliver and the Raju vineyard in Osoyoos. In addition, small amounts of Merlot from Front Yard in Naramata completed the final blend. It abounds with black cherry, raspberry, plum, eucalyptus, and lavender aromas. This vintage was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barriques and puncheons, with a portion of the wine further aged in a French cuvée to refine tannins.
