Reviews and Ratings

Sarah Emilson rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lighter and duller in ruby colour than I had expected. Blueberry pie, raisins, black licorice, black olives, balsamic, ink, tar and white pepper on the nose. Palate was dry with medium levels of acidity, body and tannin structure, yet a high level of alcohol perceived. Flavours of black currant, blue and blackberries, raisins, figs, cocoa, coffee beans, balsamic, white pepper, tar and minerality; ending in a medium length finish. This is a good wine and would suggest drinking it now; there is not enough complexity and structure to warrant years of additional cellaring. A Spanish version of Amarone is a fitting description for this wine. I enjoyed this wine with a heavily seasoned beef loin and rosemary potatoes/carrots. The notable pairing here was the flavour of rosemary, working together to bring out the best of both wine and food. Other pairings would include lamb, osso bucco, sharp cheddar and a charcuterie plate.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
