Natalie's Score: 90/100

A savoury, deeply flavoured Spanish red wine made from the Tempranillo grape. The vines are planted at 895 metres above sea level. The wine was aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. Aromas of black fleshy plums and toasty oak. Great wine for this price. The finish is saturated with dark fruit flavours. Polished tannins with a long finish. Pair with grilled meats.

Tempranillo food pairings: grilled steak, pork chops, lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Plummy and spicy with hints of mint and smoke. Full bodied with some nicely structured tannins and bright acidity balancing out some robust fruit and finishing with smoky notes. Enjoy with a steak or portobello mushroom on the grill.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Harvested in Ribera del Duero in Spain, from 100% Tempranillo, the Celeste Crianza 2015 shows aromas of fig, dried blackberry, mustard seed, black pepper, parmesan cheese, tobacco and cedar. The grapes were picked at close to 900 meters of altitude; hence the name Celeste. Rich, with a velvety finish, this full-bodied wine shows great balance and drinkability. Flavors of sour cherry, blackberry, dried rose, pastrami, cocoa and cedar. Enjoy!
