A full-bodied, balanced red with attractive aromas of mocha and tart blackberries on the nose. Lots of richness on the palate, yet it's not heavy. This is a terrific wine for many meat dishes, from game to prime rib or grilled pork chops.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: grilled portabella mushrooms, bison tenderloin, or a meaty lasagne, charcuterie.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A big bold wine yet very balanced with candied aromas and a hint of lavender. On the palate it has very distinct tannins and flavors of fresh fruits, sage and lots of spice. Excellent wine paired with meat.
Our Cabernet Franc comes 100% from our Diamondback Vineyard on the Black Sage
Bench. The 2009 Cabernet Franc was brought in at cooler temperatures and after
sitting on its skins for several days, yeast was added to start fermentation. After
fermenting, the Cabernet Franc spent 12 months in American oak barrels prior to
bottling in May 2011.
