Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

I have one word for this Chardonnay. Amazing! Well, actually more than one word. McWatters Collection 2020 Chardonnay is lush, elegant and beautifully crafted. A lot of thought went into this complex but easy to read Chardonnay with a lot of finesse. The wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied, not heavy, more voluptuous with pitch-perfect balance of acidity and well-integrated oak spice. It's like sipping on buttered popcorn, ripe golden apple, lemon curd, toffee, vanilla cream, pepper and nutmeg spice, smooth and mouth-filling with a lingering flinty mineral kiss. It is a happy marriage between Napa Valley and Burgundy Chardonnay wine styles (can that really happen?) : )

For the 2020 vintage, grapes were sourced from Mirror Lake and Hayne Creek Vineyards, whole bunch pressed, 100% barrel fermented (20% in new French oak) including post fermentation lees stirring and full malolactic conversion. Crafted by winemaker Lynzee Schatz. Tasted March 2022.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
